Using the Heads on Daedalus

So I'll be making a few posts on what to do while onboard Daedalus just in case you come cruising with us.

One of the fist things many people new to boating ask is "How do you use the bathroom?" After explaining that it's called "the head", we then walk them through it. Most people have never used a marine head.

Daedalus has two heads. One is a manual-pump head and the other is electric. We have separate instructions for both also posted right in front of you as you, um, sit.

If you come aboard we'll show you in person how to use them. But here is the reading material if you wish to study!

How to use a Jabsco Marine Head

One of the most frequently asked questions we get when people come on board Daedalus is "How do you use the head?" So, I made a video. Hope you like it! Here's a link if that doesn't work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wu9ff3D8aoQ   Fair winds! Steve

The Cruiser's Daily Logbook

Do you like using an old-school paper logbook? So do we!  But I couldn't find one that had just the right amount of information. Most of the marine store generic logbooks are too sparse. They are mostly just blank journals, or have only the most basic information.  The professional mariners logbooks have entirely too much information that we pleasure cruiser's just don't need.  Our logbook is the Goldilocks version! It has all the information you would want to record about your cruises, plus it has plenty of space for you to write an account of your day.    Click the picture below to go to The Cruiser's Daily Logbook at Lulu Press:   The logbook has room for 60 days of cruising. It's a two-page spread with a stay-open coil binding.  On the left side you have all the details of the day. On the right you have room for meals and water, plus a large amount of journal space.    In the back are tables to record your fuelings, required emergency rad...
